I am currently a graduate student in computer science at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) where I am focusing on machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Prior to Penn, I attended the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where I received my MBA with Distinction, Edward Tuck Scholar. While at Tuck I worked as a TA for many classes and also made a point to play soccer and, more importantly, hockey (I grew up in rural Minnesota).
Before Tuck I worked at Google for four years in sales and marketing roles - primarily related to Google Ads (then called AdWords). It was during my years at Google that I developed a keen interest in the technology industry specifically.
Before my time at Google I did a year of service work with AmeriCorps and the American Red Cross.
I did my undergraduate work at Pomona College in Claremont, CA where I majored in economics and minored in media studies.
This blog will maintain a focus on artificial intelligence and, more specifically, machine learning as it applies to global commerce and business.
I will cover a relatively broad range of topics under the umbrella of "artificial intelligence", most of which will pertain to its commercial applicability. That being said, I also plan to share my commentary on AI ethics and issues such as the "control problem". Although these topics are not directly applicable to business, I believe they represent some of the most important work to be done regarding AI.
Although I have personal opinions on a wide range of topics including politics, philosophy, and economics, I will keep my views on those topics to a minimum on this website.
I very much welcome any feedback on my posts or the website in general. Thank you for reading.
